Reiki Symbols
(From the book True Spirit of Reiki by Naran S Balakumar)
There are totally six symbols.
Drawing Symbols
The symbols get the life, when you draw the symbol and chant the name of symbols thrice. When you utter the mantra thrice the symbol gets activated.
For practice we are drawing the symbol in the note-book afterwards we have to draw the symbol in the air.
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen
First symbol is called HON SHA ZE SHO NEN.
The first symbol is not a symbol but it is a Japanese script. The meaning of the symbol is – “I am in the right direction, and I am silent”. What is right direction? When you are silent you will be in the right direction. I am in right direction, and silent to know my true nature, which is shining like a light. That light is divine.
In other words the whole script says that you are Atman. The Atman is healing and not the mind. That means you should be detached from the healing. When you say Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, you are outside the body and you are just witnessing what is happening.
In that manner, it is the connecting symbol for your own Atman. The Atman only can give light and not our mind because our mind is always in darkness. It is Atman which provides the light to the mind. I am in the right direction means, “I am the Atman who is doing the healing”.
Zonar
What is work of this symbol? It helps to remove the congestion. Whatever be the problem area, we have to first cleanse and clear the congestion. Zonar does that work.
Sei He Ki
Once the congestion is released, where will it go? It has to find some place. The congestion moves from one place to another. So Sei He Ki makes the congestion into powder and sends them into the space. The congestion energy is dissipated into the space.
The Zonar removes the congestion and Sei He Ki sends it back to the universe for reprocessing.
Rama
What does it do? The organ or the problem, after the congestion is removed is weak, because of not receiving energy. This symbol gives strength to the organ or body.
Shanti
Next is Shanti. This symbol gives Reiki to the organ or body. Shanti is the energizing symbol and working through pink color. That is love and Reiki is nothing but love. That means the divine love is given by Shanti.
Cho Ku Rei
After giving the divine love you have to realign the organ or system to the divine flow and create harmony. That is taken care of by another symbol called Cho Ku Rei. The harmony is restored by Cho Ku Rei.
Well-being of everybody concerned
Giving Reiki to somebody means giving them energy. Wherever the energy is less, give Reiki.
Give Reiki daily to your Family photograph.
Give Reiki to drinking water and make others drink it. It’s very effective.
When we give Reiki to children they learn to live with Reiki.
When you fight with somebody give Reiki to them as they are indirectly asking for it.
Send it to the people around you as all of them are our projections.
Tension Reliever
Naran
When emotions are overwhelming, we don’t know that thoughts are behind any emotion. What’s the thought behind the tension? It’s difficult to say because we do not observe the mind.
The traditional Reiki Symbol Sei He Ki will remove unwanted and unrequired thoughts, which trigger the emotions.
By drawing the Karuna Reiki Symbol Shanthi, pink color energy will be generated. What’s the advantage? It aids relaxation.
Positions of Energy
Major Reiki Positions
There are 18 positions in our body, through which we can tap energy.
However, if you have a lot of money but do not spend it, then the money is useless. In the same way, if you don’t tap the energy in you, it’s as good as being poor.
Giving Reiki in those positions
By giving Reiki in these 18 positions, Reiki will remove all unwanted stuff from our lives.
We don’t have to worry, which position removes which unwanted stuff. Just work in all these positions. Reiki will take care of the rest.
Chakras Vs Reiki Positions
These 18 positions are governed by the seven chakras.
Therefore, by working on these positions, you work on the chakras that channel the energy for us. Origin of disease happens because of lack of energy in chakras.
Hands-on Reiki Positions
If you are keeping your hands on Reiki positions then do the following, after drawing the relevant Reiki Symbols:
- In each position, spend at least three minutes. You could use an alarm with a snooze facility. If you don’t want to do that, to manage duration of giving Reiki in each position,you may say the affirmations certain no of times (say for example, eleven times in each position).
- Finally to take care of back positions, which is hard for some people to place their hands on back positions, do the Hanuman posture (joining the hands and two soles of the feet) for a few minutes after drawing the symbols. This is very good to energize yourself after a long strenuous day.
Reiki Sessions
It takes about 45 minutes to give Reiki to all positions.
If you can’t get 45 minutes at a stretch, then split your session into three 15-minutes sessions – first session in the morning, second session during the day and then the last one before going to sleep.
We may fall asleep while doing the third session though. However, it doesn’t matter.
Clear your health issues
Fever
Give Reiki to whole body, especially back of the head, on the back of the head behind your mouth.
For Fever, Reiki water works better. Energise the water with Zonar, Sei he ki and Rama symbols.
Give Reiki to the kidneys and to your feet as well.
Physically tired
Cho ku Rei
Give Reiki to anything that requires energy.
You may give energy to whole of the world.
If there is a problem in the society that means there is less energy.
Reiki can be useful to handle that.
I have a friend, was saved from tsunami, as she tried out the violet flame technique and Reiki.
Before a surgery and after a surgery
Give full-body Reiki
Pain in teeth
Have hands-on jaws on the side where there is pain.
In addition, give Reiki to Kidneys.
Stress busters
Give full-body Reiki on a regular basis.
Restless leg syndrome
Giving Reiki to legs, Crown Chakra, and Basic Chakra will stop it.
Chronic disease like asthma
Full body Reiki
Head ache
Forehead and back head positions, as well as Basic Chakra.
Forgive Your Ancestors

Inspired from your writings, me and my wife used to do forgiveness – to forgive and be forgiven once a day 3 times in a row, the wording of which includes our ancestors who are no more on this earth plane, and to all known / unknown to whom knowingly or unknowingly we did some wrong or they had done to us.
Since two days, I have dreamed of my sister, who passed away 15 years back and my maternal grandmother when I was a kid.
What that indicates? Do they have some wishes left to be fulfilled? I wish to help them if the matter is so. What can I do? It means they have not taken birth again due to whatever the reason?
Naran
- Visualize a Silver Equilateral Triangle in front of you.
- Just think about them, and command within, “I Release all the memories of their unfulfilled desires, all their unfulfilled expectations into this Triangle”.
- Call Sun god, “Sun god! Fill up this triangle. Transform all the unaligned incomplete energy frequencies into Light and Love.”
- Say, “Open Align Resonate with Love and Light” for 3 minutes.
- When you are chanting the above, visualize the triangle turning into Orange, Red, Blue, Violet, Yellow and Green (one after another).
- Visualize the Green Triangle coming into your heart centre and becoming a Star of David.
- From there, visualize green filling up the entire body.
- While visualizing chant, “Open Align Resonate with Love and Light”

The Driver for Relationships, Desires and Talent
Friends are forever
Hara Chakra is situated 1.5 inches below navel. We form relationships because of this chakra. So it is also called a Relationship Chakra. When relationships are not good, then energy level is low in this chakra.
Our friendships will get bad and people will remain single, if this chakra is imbalanced. If you want better relationships then you have to improve the energy level of this chakra.
Once a month you will feel ok. Next ten days you will not feel ok. This means this chakra is not working properly. If there are friends around and connection(s) to people happens, all because of this chakra. If you want better relationships, then take care of this chakra.
Our talents are exposed to the world
It’s also called the Talent Chakra. Suppose my talent is not utilized properly, then it means energy is low in this chakra. We keep saying, “I haven’t got a good job, worthy enough to my capacity”. This thought will reduce the energy in the Hara Chakra and will affect our job as well.
Our desires are fulfilled
It is physically connected to urino- genital organs. Therefore, it is called Sex Chakra. Mentally it is connected with our desires. Our talents and capacities are here. When that chakra is working properly your desires are fulfilled. So it is also called a Desire Chakra.
Ready to get married
When you feel safe and secure thanks to Basic Chakra, you will get married. Your parents would think our boy has a good job, so let us get him married.
All our problems in general are mental problems. They are present because of our issues with our relationships. Thanks to this chakra, we form relationships and if our relationships are not good enough then we lose energy out of this chakra. On the other hand, if we have good relationships then we will have enough energy in this chakra.
We fight in the office. We come home and fight there too. When we fight both at home and office, how can we have enough energy? When we worry so much, then we do not beget a child too.
De-addiction
Addiction or craving for sweets means this chakra is imbalanced. Many will have craving thanks to imbalance in this chakra. Extreme desires will lead to addictions and in turn depletion of Hara Chakra. Therefore, addiction can’t be removed so easily and too much desire has to be reduced.
Solar Miracles
SNM
Please advise me about your precious method that can heal Ovary Cysts. I know a 25-year old girl, for whom her right Ovary has been removed due to tumor and cysts has been found in her left ovary. Can her mother and mother in-law chant for her?
Naran
1. Chant BLUE SAPPHIRE
2. Pray to sun god, “Sun-god, please send the solar healing rays on — (name of the person), to disintegrate and expel the undead cells of the ovarian cyst.” Pray once and visualize solar rays healing her. She will be alright.
Her Mother and Mother-in-law can chant for her.
SNM
Cysts have been found dissolved. No more cysts. Thank God.
Naran
Now continue the healing in a different way:
“Sun god, please send the solar healing rays that align every organ every cell of — (the patient’s) body to DIVINE ORDER”.
Visualize the rays filling up the entire body. Thank the sun after 5 minutes and come out of the solar meditation.
SNM
Cysts have been dissolved. Thank God. May dear one have healthy life and positive Vibration by the Grace of Lord SUN.
Naran
The Gem Remedy Blue Sapphire can restrict the growth of any growth in the body.
The Sun has all the energy to remove the unwanted cells from our body and give the necessary energy and cells to our body.
How Our Reactions to Problems Affect Us
Problems appear in pranic body first
All our problems enter the physical body only after entering our energy body.
Say for example, you are having some problem in the knee, liver or stomach means that one or two months prior to this, the energy body is affected in that particular area.
So maintaining the clean energy body, by realigning the energy body to the flow of Divine energy, you are cleansing, clearing and energizing and preventing the physical problem.
Our thoughts and emotions affects our energy levels
The energy body is also connected to the mind. In other words, mind is also energy. Every thought is energy and every emotion is energy too.
If you have feelings of joy and enthusiasm or any positive emotions and if you have positive thoughts then you are positively contributing to the energy. When he is in a joyful mood he can run 10 miles. If the same person is sad and depressed he cannot run even 1 mile. It means the unwanted emotions – sadness, worries or fears will dampen the energy. They will pull down the energy level by deviating from the energy flow.
Our thoughts and emotions affects our body and organs too
That means our own thoughts, thinking process and emotions have a definite impact on the energy body and in turn on the physical body.
That means each and every organ is connected to the energy body/etheric body mentally as well as etherically. Therefore, our mental thoughts and emotions will have an impact on the physical organs.
However, anger will affect only certain organs, sadness and depression will affect some other organ, and worry will affect some other. For example, while liver is affected by anger, then it will not be affected by worry.
So each and every organ is specific about receiving a particular energy. As far as the receiving of energy is concerned, it is the chakra which decides that, because each and every chakra is connected to certain organs.
When the energy is received in the form of light, each and every chakra is specific in receiving only one color. In that way the energy field is processed and maintained by the energy body.
